Verdict Classification System

TruthFactIndia assigns one of the following classifications to claims reviewed:

  • True — The claim is supported by verifiable evidence and accurately reflects available facts.
  • Misleading — The claim contains elements of truth but omits key context, exaggerates data, or presents information in a way that may create a false impression.
  • Unsubstantiated — The claim lacks sufficient credible evidence to verify or substantiate it at the time of review.
  • False — The claim is contradicted by verifiable evidence and does not accurately represent the facts.

Classifications are based solely on the weight and reliability of available evidence at the time of publication.
